WEEF/GECD Conference Code of Conduct
At WEEF/GEDC/IFEES we work to foster an inclusive and respectful environment that promotes open dialogue, collaboration and the exchange of ideas. This code of conduct outlines our commitment to creating a safe and welcoming conference experience for all attendees regardless of their background, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, academic level, or any other characteristic.
- Respectful Behaviour: Treat all participants, including fellow attendees, speakers, organisers and staff with respect and courtesy. Be mindful of your language and behaviour, avoiding offensive or discriminatory remarks or actions.
- Inclusivity: Celebrate the diversity of our attendees, welcoming individuals from various backgrounds, cultures and experiences. Ensure that all participants feel valued and included in conference activities.
- Harassment-free Environment: we have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment in any form, including but not limited to verbal, written, or physical harassment. Harassment includes offensive comments, inappropriate jokes, unwelcome advances, and any other behaviour that makes someone feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or that they don’t belong.
- Professional Conduct: Conduct yourself professionally during all conference activities – including social activities. Any form of disruptive or offensive behaviour that interferes with the normal flow of presentations, workshops or discussion is strictly prohibited.
- Privacy and Consent: Always obtain explicit consent before taking photographs, videos, or recordings of other participants. Respect the privacy and confidentiality of attendees during informal discussions and networking events.
- Reporting and Accountability: if you experience or witness any violations of this code of conduct please report it to the conference organisers or a member of the IFEES Executive Committee as soon as possible. All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and confidentially. Appropriate action will be taken to address any confirmed violations, which may include warnings, or removal from the event.
- Compliance with Local Laws: All attendees are expected to adhere to the laws and regulations of the conference location. Any illegal activities will not be tolerated and my result in immediate expulsion from the event.
By participating in WEEF/GCED conference you agree to abide by this code of conduct and contribute to a positive and enriching experience for all attendees. We reserve the right to update and modify this code of conduct as needed to reflect the evolving needs of our community.
